Accomplishments

Lake to Shore

In partnership with B.C. Forestry, Princeton Fish & Game Association provided access and established campsites to many of the remote lakes surrounding Princeton.
Constructed a fish barrier for Allison Creek to prevent coarse fish from accessing the hwy. 5 lakes.
A dam was built within Rampart Creek to improve spawning capabilities for rainbow trout from Rampart Lake.
Cleared a walking trail and provided a wharf at Butler Lake.
Placed and continue to maintain an aerator at Martens Lake to assist and keeping all aquatic life from dying from low oxygen levels during the winter months.

Assisted B.C. Fisheries with the installation of a culvert in Kump Creek to enhance spawning opportunities in Kump Lake in turn helping angling efforts.

In cooperation with B.C. Fresh Water Fisheries, Min. of Forests and R.D.O.S, an angling dock was installed on Martin’s Lake, providing anglers an opportunity to fish and enjoy the Lake.

 

Wildlife Preservation

Assisted the Environment Ministry in construction of an elk trap which helped monitor & enhance the elk populations in the Princeton area.

The club has assisted the B.C. Wildlife Branch & B.C. Fisheries in undertaking habitat improvements, wildlife counts as well as regulation changes and updates.

 

Family + Community 

The Princeton Fish & Game Association undertakes an annual fishing day at Chain Lake. All children registered for the day win prices. A free lunch is also provided of hamburgers and hot dogs to all in attendance. The event is held on Fathers Day weekend.
The club puts on an annual spring dinner and silent auction where all the proceeds raised are donated back to the community. This event has assisted the Princeton Hospital as well as the Vermillion Court Assisted Living Complex for Seniors and the Princeton Highway Rescue.

We have constructed a functional firearms range capable of handling a variety of firearm types. This firearms range holds annual Turkey Shoots as well as the ability to be rented out.
